2/28/2008 Houston — To address public safety issues in light of recent events and further enhance the security of Houston’s Southwest Chinatown, the Asian American Business Council (AABC), a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the development of the new Chinatown, will sponsor a Safety Education Seminar on March 15, 2008 at the Chinese Community Center.

Free and open to the public, the Safety Education Seminar will include lectures by Jackson Chang, chair of AABC’s safety committee, and Sherwin Sun, program specialist at the Chinese Community Center.

The event will start at 10:00 AM with speeches from guest speakers and notable event sponsors. Primary topics of focus will include crime prevention and personal safety. The Safety Education Seminar is free and open to the public, with both English and Chinese-speaking representatives from AABC available to address pubic questions on the topic of safety.

The safety lectures will be followed by a Malaysian lunch and photograph opportunities for guests, audience members, and the media.

The Chinese Community Center is located at 9800 Town Park, Houston, Texas. The Safety Education Seminar will be held in room 134 and is scheduled to start promptly at 10:00AM.
