Seattle Travel Review
Well it has been a while since my last travel review. This past summer, I travel to Seattle ,WA. to visit a family member. Seattle is known for its dreary and gloomy skies so I had something to look forward to already. When I landed at Seattle (SeaTac airport - Seattle, Tacoma combined), It was very sunny. The weather was cool and breezy. On the bus to the hotel, I can see the beautiful fir trees and lots of green vegetations. The city itself is very nice. Oh I forgot to mention, to the south of the airport, Mt. Rainer with its white snow caps dominates the sky line. Like Mt. Fuji in Japan, Mt. Rainer is the main landscape in Seattle.
Back to the Seattle, their downtown is like most major U.S. downtowns. They have a fifth avenue that has all the well-known shops like Banana Republic, Tiffany's, Nordstrom, and others. The most interesting thing about downtown Seattle is that there is a coffee shop every block. Starbucks calls Seattle home. Seattle's Best Coffee makes its birth in Seattle. Tully's Coffee also resides in Seattle. Now we know why there is a coffee shop every block.
I went on this underground tour in Seattle. The history behind this was that the real Seattle use to be underneath the city of today. Back in the 1930's, Seattle burned to the ground and so they had to rebuild. To make a long story short, other factors were involved in building on top of the old city (due to the lake water coming in on high tide with the old Seattle). Anyways, it was a very interesting history lesson.
Part 2 of my trip will be published tomorrow.
