8/27/2011 BEIJING (Xinhua) -- Chinese primary and
secondary schools have been ordered to increase calligraphy classes as
widespread keyboard use has cramped children's penmanship.
According to a notice issued by the Ministry of Education on its website Friday, elementary school students in grades three to six will have one hour of calligraphy class every week, and senior high schools should set up calligraphy as an optional course.
