8/1/2009-- Taiwan and China are beginning to translate their thaw in relations into unprecedented economic exchanges.

Despite 60 years of rivalry, China is now Taiwan's biggest trading partner.

The relationship has developed, despite some restrictions remaining on both sides of the Straits, over dealings with each other.
