3/23/2010 MOSCOW (Xinhua) -- The opening ceremony of the "Year of Chinese Language" was held here on Tuesday evening as China and Russia seek to promote cultural exchange and bilateral ties.

Visiting Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping and Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin attended the ceremony in the Kremlin in downtown Moscow.
