3/30/2010-- With the 3-D wave sweeping through the global movie industry, China cannot escape. In 2010, Chinese filmmakers will give their movies additional dimension.

Hong Kong-based Filmko Entertainment has announced its 3-D Monkey King project. This live action fantasy, adapted from classic novel Journey to the West relates the Monkey King's rebellion against the Gods. With a budget of 250 million yuan (US$37 million), the movie will have its special effects rendered by New Zealand's Weta Digital which contributed to the success of The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, King Kong (2005) and Avatar.
