Herbs for Healthy Hair
Our hair is actually protein matter called keratin. And news is-
what we see on our head, the jungle of protein that we so
passionately care about, is actually dead. The living part of
the hair s below the surface of the scalp, called follicle, which
supplies these dead cells to keep our mane flowing. At the base of
the follicle is a cluster of living cells called the papilla, which
eventually forms hair? Next to the follicle is the sebaceous gland
that actually keeps the hair shiny and looking vibrant. Excessive
sebum activity can make hair unduly oily while lack of sebum
activity can make it dry and lifeless.
Rosemary or stinging-nettle may help combat dandruff, a source of
hair loss. Put a large handful of rosemary into a pan and cover with
water. Simmer for 10-15 minutes and leave to cool. Strain the
mixture through a sieve into a jug containing a few drops of wheat
germ or any oil. Use this as a rinse after you have washed your hair
with a very mild shampoo. Finally rinse thoroughly with tepid water.
Take a vitamin B complex everyday or brewers yeast. Increase your
intake of protein found in meat, fish, liver, wheat germ, dried
cooked beans and peas, tofu, cheese, milk and eggs.
You can help reduce the effects of hair loss from stress, trauma,
shock or illness by increasing your intake of vitamin C found in
fresh fruits and vegetables, particularly citrus fruit and juices,
parsley, broccoli, green peppers and black currants.
If you are experiencing hair loss, have a hair analysis done to
uncover any nutritional deficiencies or toxic metal contamination.
As hair is formed, available minerals and amino acids circulating in
the blood are laid down in the hair. A hair analysis can therefore
provide a picture of your mineral status and pick up any exposure to
toxic metals. You should also consult your physician to check for an
underlying health problem, such as hypothyroidism or infection.
Eliminating clogged hair follicles by dissolving dead skin cells,
solidified scalp oil (sebum), and shampoo residues that can
contribute to premature hair loss. Dead skin cells and sebum oil are
one of the main reasons of hair loss as they are food of bacteria.
And bacteria destroy hair roots and scalp. Eliminating clogged hair
follicles, dormant follicles can begin producing healthy hair once
again.
Butterfly Pea or Blue Pea (Scientific name: Clitoria Ternatea Linn.
in Papilionaceae family) Butterfly Pea herb has been used in ancient
Thai herbal medicine to treat hair loss and prematurely grey hair
for many decades. It works by promoting blood circulation in the
scalp, nourishing and strengthening hair follicles. And other herb
extracts in unique formula.
By treating your hair loss, you will be able to keep your hair
looking healthy as well as help to keep a full body of hair. This
will then help you in feeling better and being more comfortable with
your looks. But when looking for the best hair loss treatment for
women you may often get frustrated after spending too much money on
ineffective hair loss remedies and their side effects with no
positive results at all.
Some conditions can be treated medically through drugs like
minoxidil and corticosteroids. Others might require something more
drastic, like follicular hair transplant, a form of surgical hair
restoration that does provide lasting benefits. The cost, however,
can be prohibitive.
