LOCAL GALLERY HOLDS 3RD ANNUAL WOMEN'S EVENT TO PROVIDE INVESTMENT KNOWLEDGE OF BUYING FINE ART & ANTIQUITIES.
On April 29, 2006, 11:30am-1:30pm, International Décor Gallery in River Oaks will host an event called “The Empowerment of a Woman Investor: Learning to Collect on Her Own”. The Exhibition will include a presentation of the Gallery’s Permanent Antiquities Collection and a special showcase of International Antique Jewelry.
Gallery Owner, Hannah Bacol Busch, sets another tradition to hold a gathering of women in hopes to educate and empower them in the fine art of “COLLECTING”. One of the main goals of the event is to provide resources for both novice and experienced collectors. The process of collecting usually entails many challenges, such as time, extensive knowledge, and developing the financial means to begin and maintain a collection. One of the highlights of the evening will be a UBS financial advisor who will provide a lecture on their comprehensive Art Advisory service.
There will also be a short presentation on acquiring antiquities from Asia, especially the trend of attaining Tibetan Treasures. The Gallery’s own permanent Tibetan Antiquity Collection includes a 17th century Buddha bronze statue, 18th century bronze teapot, 19th century textile woven horse saddle, and several 17th-19th century thangkas.
Mrs. Busch will always encourage that a collector buy art because she likes it, because it moves her and because it enhances her life. Just as important, new collectors must visit as many art galleries, get on their mailing lists and attend the events, and consider getting to know the staff as they will be helpful guides in their art education.
In an effort to empower women investors, International Décor Gallery has organized an event which raises women’s awareness to take control of their financial resources and to consider “Art Collecting” as a means of Financial Investment. After many years of traveling and collecting and working with dealers from around the world, the owner and her staff gladly share their knowledge to other women who are interested in learning the fine art of collecting antiquities & fine art, especially from Asia, Africa, S. America, & Mexico.
