3/30/2006 Houston-- Highway officials said Wednesday they plan no changes today to relieve congestion on the Southwest Freeway at the newly opened Spur 527. Officials feel they will give drivers more time to get used to the new layout. Usually it takes three to five days to adjust to changes on a major freeway says officials.

The continued closure of the outside inbound lane while workers finish building the freeway's concrete wall has caused major backups and headaches for Houston drivers. TxDot says that it will take another four to six weeks to finish building the concrete wall.

So in the meantime, motorists are urged to be patient and everything will work out for Houston drivers.
