China
has banned the import of some Japanese food products amid fears of
radiation contamination due to the ongoing crisis at the Fukushima
nuclear power plant in Japan.
The food ban covers dairy, vegetables and water-based products as well as fruit from the Japanese prefectures of Fukushima, Tochigi, Gunma, Ibaraki and Chiba, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said.
