Get Lighter Skin, The Safe and Effective Way

In many Asian countries, citizens would go to great lengths in finding the best ways for them to get lighter skin. It is quite the opposite in the United States where tanning is the thing. Regardless of the lesser demand in some countries however, skin lightening solutions have become rampant in almost every corner of the world.
There are now many ways to get lighter skin; some are offered by luxurious spa treatments, some can actually be a home concoction. The latter is favored by many for one obvious reason: it definitely will not break the bank. It is important to note though, the best way to acquiring and sustaining good skin is to really make time for it on a daily basis. Just like us, the skin needs protection and to be nourished too.

If you think sunscreen is overrated, let me tell you, it most certainly is not. If anything, it holds of great value and may very well be considered a necessity. Contrary to what many think, sunscreen is not only to spare you from the horrible sun burnt feeling; it helps prevent many types of skin diseases, from harmless age spots to skin cancer. If you are a sun-lover, be sure to apply sunscreen with at least sun protection factor (SPF) 15. When or if you notice spots that have not been there before develop, go for higher SPF (30 is highly recommended). A visit to the doctor would not hurt either.

It is a given that what we put in our body makes it what it is. If you are looking to get lighter skin, drink at least 8 glasses of water and take 500mg of Vitamin C a day. Vitamin C or Ascorbic Acid is an antioxidant that slows down the production of the natural substance that gives our skin color, the melanin. To put it simply, the more melanin, the darker the skin is. Water hydrates the skin and flushes out toxins from the body.

There are also many good skin lightening pills out in the market but just as the music industry is threatened by piracy, the world of cosmetology has become a victim of fake lightening pills. They are marketed the same way and look practically the same as the real ones that consumers are often misled into buying non-effective pills; so, be very careful and do not just grab any skin lightening product off the rack. If you are scouting for the best lightening solution, keep in mind that a good one should have very little or no hydroquinone, steroids, and mercury. Studies show that these three may cause skin cancer, skin-thinning, and blood poisoning respectively. The safe ingredients are licorice, papain, and kojic acid (plant, papaya, and mushroom extract).

There indeed are many ways for you to achieve that radiant white skin but always proceed with caution and seriously consider consulting an expert. If you want to get lighter skin, you would want to do it the right way.
