The Asian American Business Council was first organized in August, 2005 by a group of local commercial property owners, developers, bankers, business owners, and local non-profit organizations. It is the first non-profit association of this kind to form in Houston for the benefits of the new Southwest Houston Chinatown area.
The mission of AABC is to improve and coordinate safety and security issues, beautify the area, and promote more business opportunities in Chinatown. The group is formed led by Mr. Kenneth Li and 8 board members:
