9/23/2008 -- Taiwan fell five places in
the latest annual ranking by the anti-corruption organization
Transparency International, but still obtained the same confidence
rating as last year.
In its Corruption Perceptions Index published in Berlin yesterday, Taiwan fell to 39th cleanest country from 34th in last year's survey.
Same score
However, its score remained the same at 5.7, almost halfway on the range from 0 or highly corrupt, to 10 or highly clean. Transparency International describes the score as more important than the ranking.
