12/14/2006 Taipei, Taiwan (Kyodo) -- Taiwan's first lady Wu Shu-chen went on trial Friday and pleaded not guilty to charges of embezzlement and forgery in connection with misuse of state funds. Wu, wife of President Chen Shui-bian, was slapped with the charges on Nov. 3 for misusing NT$14.8 million (US$450,000) meant for national affairs.
