8/14/2009-- The Chinese mainland is
assisting Taiwan with typhoon relief efforts. The Taiwan Work Office of
the CPC Central Committee says the mainland has donated 130 million yuan
to the island.
The office was collecting relief materials for the island and says it will give any needed support. It's also preparing to send rescue and medical teams. The office says people across the Straits have strong connections and will support each other during times of crisis. Taiwan media reported that helicopters, disinfectants, sanitizing equipment, shelters, and food were among the much needed supplies.
