Houston Community News >> Why You Hate Your Job

2/12/2007-- Most people don't look forward to work on Monday, I wonder why. Most people can't wait to take a holiday, what's wrong with work? Most people can't wait until it's 5:30pm or mentally they stop work at 3pm. Where does this lack of motivation come from? Could it be that you actually hate your job.

Do you really hate your job?

Ok! Ok!! Ok!!! I will not make it any worse that it already is. Yes! You hate your job; why else would you read this little article on "Why you hate your job".

In fact, how many times have we used the phrase "hate your job"?

The question I need to ask you is this:

Are you being true to yourself? Are you deceiving yourself by doing a job that pays the bills, gives you an average style of living, status and temporary friends who will not bend over backwards to be by your side when you need them most?

Can I rephrase this a little clearer, are you too scared to be all you can be because a job that pays the bills is more important to you than happiness, fulfillment and peace of mind.

If your answer to this question is "yes", then you need to know how unsecured your job really is.

How unsecured is my job? You hate your job but it pays the bills and allows you to barely get by on a monthly basis.

There is a problem! How can you ever be promoted, when as soon as you get to work, you can't wait to leave.

When the company faces a crisis, who's job do you think will go first, will it be the job of the one who just does all he can to get by or the one who puts his whole heart, passion, talent and perfected skills to the benefit of the company.

If you are not passionate about your job and your job does not compliment your talents and natural abilities, then not only will you hate going to work but work will also hate you and inevitably, one of you will have to let go someday.

Stop looking for a job because it pays your bills or because it can give you an average life style. You'll only end up being miserable, spent and end up with a mediocre life.

Have a look at the stars, Will Smith, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Tom Hanks, Catherine Zeta Jones and many more. Do you think they hate their job?

Do you know why they probably look forward to work?

I bet it's not mainly because of the money. I have a sneaky suspicion that it is due to the fact that not only are they talented and gifted at what they do, they are also passionate about it. As a result, they give it their best and you spend your wages to go and watch them live out their dreams after a day's work of frustration and heartache.

Are you living your dreams based on your passion, true talents and gifts, or are you just getting paid to do what you've been told to do?

Get a life, get your dream job.

Your dream job is defined as a job that allows you to exercise your true talents and gifts based on your passions and interests.

What is it that you can do so well, it requires so little effort; it's just a natural thing for you?

What is it that you are so passionate about, once you get started on it, it's almost impossible to shut you up?

What is your conscience saying to you every single day of your life? Each day you sit on your desk, reluctant to make the next move?

"James! You know you should be a presenter."

"Sharon! Why don't you try getting a job as a Beauty Consultant, you know you are crazy about the fashion industry."

"David! It's only a matter of time before you start looking for another job. You know you would be happier working as an investment banker."

"Lucy, you've always wanted to be a Management Consultant, what are you doing here?"

Your conscience is the only voice that isn't afraid to make a change. It has never lied to you nor deceived you. Why don't you listen to it?

Make a choice today and make the defiant move that will change your life for the best.

Be All You Can Be!!
