Austin Fine Arts Festival
Celebrate the arts while shopping the original artwork of 220 local, national and international juried artists. Surrounding Republic Square Park in beautiful downtown, the outdoor festival also features live artist demonstrations, kids art activities, interactive art installations, Grammy award-winning musicians and live performances and delicious cuisine. 40 Acres Fest
40 Acres Fest is a fun-filled festival by and for the students of UT. Features local bands, student performances and carnival games. noon- 6pm. Location: University of Texas Campus.

Bat Watching
The 1.5 million Mexican free-tailed bats that live beneath the Congress Avenue Bridge take flight in a mass exodus each night at dusk. Located at Congress Ave. & Cesar Chavez St. Austin, TX 78704.

Art After Dark
Art After Dark transforms the Austin Fine Arts Festival into an exquisite culinary and visual art experience. Enjoy an exclusive evening celebrating 220 visual artists, live music performances, culinary creations from some of Austin's finest restaurants including Castle Hill Cafe, Mansion at Judge's Hill, Shoreline Grill, Starlite, and libations provided by Grape Vine Market. 7-10 pm; $55 per person. The Exonerated

Shear Madness. The longest-running comedy in ZACH's history returns in an all-new production! It's murder among the curlers in this hilarious whodunit where you play armchair detective, uncover the secrets, and help an outrageous cast of characters solve the crime amidst a trendy Austin hair salon. The Vietnam Experience. The Vietnam Experience is strongly interpreted in this selection of 22 paintings, watercolors, and drawings by six combat artists.
These paintings and drawings give a visual sense of the Vietnam War, from the colors and landscape to the people and the adrenaline-charged combat actions. The paintings capture the surprise attacks of the guerilla conflict, the vigil River Patrol Boats maintained in keeping rivers open, and eyewitness accounts of the dangers of this war. New Botanicals Exhibit. Mary Welborn's New Botanicals is an exhibit of lyrical watercolor paintings of native flora and the role they play in our complex ecosystems. It is on display from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and noon to 5:30 p.m. Sundays in the McDermott Learning Center. These paintings are a charming and educational twist on traditional botanical painting

Ballet Austin's Director's Choice/Evolution
Gina Patterson and Stephen Mills each showcase two productions during Director’s Choice. Patterson juxtaposes her work, Insideout, with a new piece set to Dimitri Shostakovich’s music. Bluebonnet Blues & Fine Arts Festival

Spamarama
This annual April festival is as unusual as the name sounds—a Spam Cook-Off. It’s simple enough—whoever makes the best Spam wins the prize.
