Capitol 10K
The biggest 10K run in Texas is made for the whole family, and has been
described as “a cross between a footrace and a Mardi Gras parade.” This event
draws nearly 10,000 runners each year, some choosing to dress up in kooky
costumes ranging from giant guitars to a copy of an Austin American Statesman
newspaper. Location: Auditorium Shores.
Baby Bloomers
Discover the exhibits and play in a relaxed atmosphere with other families with
small children when the Museum is open exclusively for this age group. Location:

Zilker Garden Festival
There are over 100 vendors, music on the C3 Presents Soundstage, Joys of the
Garden Talks, activities for kids, great food and a raffle with fabulous items -

The People's Gallery at City Hall
The 2008 exhibition of the People's Gallery at City Hall features over 100

On the Road with the Beats
This exhibition takes visitors on a journey through the cities, landscapes, and
communities that fostered and shaped the most important works of the Beat

Play It By Ear
Come explore the art and science of tinkering with sound in our new feature
exhibit. Bring to life artworks created by sound artists. Make your own sound
art. Experiment with echoes. Change your voice to sound like a robot. This
exhibit takes a creative, playful approach to learning all about sound
production and reception. Location: Austin Children's Museum, 201 Colorado St.

Bat Watching
The 1.5 million Mexican free-tailed bats that live beneath the Congress Avenue
