Johnson City’s “Lights Spectacular” and Holiday Events. Stop by historic Johnson City to view more than a million twinkling lights along the Texas Hill Country Regional Lighting Trail. Hayrides, carriage rides and crafts fairs take place throughout the season, and visitors can take in the festive “Lighted Hooves & Wheels” parade on Nov. 29 at 6:30 p.m., rain or shine.  On Dec. 20, celebrate Christmas at former President Lyndon Baines Johnson’s boyhood home.
