Austin Friday, November 7 Events

After the Jump: Following Music Bloggers into Mainstream Media. Join Austin CVB and Transmission Entertainment to kick off Fun Fun Fun Fest with “After the Jump: Following Bloggers into Mainstream Media.” The biggest mouths in the music industry - the bloggers - are coming to Austin to talk about how they do what they do, where blogging is headed and how you can get involved. Hear from Aquarium Drunkard, Brooklyn Vegan, Gorilla Vs. Bear, Spin.com and My Old Kentucky Blog. Moderated by Paige Maguire, music editor at Austinist.com. Stick around for free food and cocktails, then head to The Mohawk for Austinist's Local Music Is Sexy party. This free event is open to the public and kicks off a weekend of punk and indie rock, hip hop and more at Fun Fun Fun Fest. Location: Club DeVille, 900 Red River Street.

Trouble Puppet Theater Company Presents "Frankenstein". The mad doctors of Trouble Puppet Theater Company bring inanimate matter to life through the forbidden science of puppetry in this version of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. A classically spooky but radically weird adaptation by Connor Hopkins, with songs sung by corpses, feminist Gypsies, plenty of fire, electricity, blood and goo. Halloween fun, with a brain (several, in fact). While some of Trouble Puppet shows are family friendly, this is not one of them. Featuring original music by Justin Sherburn and video design by Lettuce Turnip Media. Location: The City Theatre. Event ID: 11/16.

DinoLand Exhibit. DinoLand Exhibit allows you to see more than 30 life-sized dinosaurs will reside in their "natural habitat." Location: Zilker Botanical Garden. Event ID: 11/30

The 2008 exhibition of the People's Gallery at City Hall features over 100 artworks on loan from Austin artists, galleries and museums. Location: City Hall, 301 W. Second Street. Call 512-974-9313 for more info. Event ID:1/30/09
