Pet Parade and Costume Contest. The Pet Parade with John Garcia will be a chance to join in a fun walk around downtown, leaving from Austin City Hall Plaza at 11 a.m.

Halloween Children's Concert. This exciting concert features frightfully fun symphonic music that is stimulating for young eyes and ears (ages 2-10).  The entire family is invited to dress up in their favorite costumes and enjoy "boo-tiful" music with their Austin Symphony Orchestra. Location: The Long Center's Michael & Susan Dell Hall.

Texas Clay Festival. Respected potters and sculptors from around Texas display, sell their wares, and demonstrate a variety of techniques. Hands-on activities are available for children. Location: Gruene Historic District, New Braunfels, TX. Event ID: 10/25

Gem Capers 2009. The gem and mineral show will feature jewelry, beads, gemstones, mineral specimens, crystals, fossils and spheres from 30 vendors, as well as demonstrations, displays and activities for the kids.  This year’s theme is “A History of Mining.” Location: Palmer Events Center.
