4th Annual Halloween Fest. Presented by the Downtown Business Alliance, the event is a joint effort between businesses, local nonprofit organizations and great volunteers. At Halloween Fest you can participate in the costume contest for all ages, the Need For Speed Haunted House, Bastrop Fire Department Hayride, trick-or-treating at local business booths, games, giant slide and more. New this year is the Lip Sync Contest and the Live Wax Museum! The event is free to the public and is from 5-9 p.m
Texas Book Festival. Hear readings and attend signings with some of your favorite authors, visit the children’s chapter tent, or enjoy live music and poetry readings. Location: State Capitol Building.
Ghoulwill Ball. Come celebrate Halloween by dressing up as Elvis, Priscilla or the legend you’d like to awaken. It's ghoulish fun for a good cause. Proceeds benefit Goodwill's job-related programs and services with a simple mission of helping put people to work. Location: The Driskill Hotel.
