Houston's acclaimed Kaminari Taiko and
Kashima Taiko from Japan will perform at a joint concert at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 11th
in front of Houston City Hall.
Kashima Taiko Team is part of the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Squads Overseas
Training Cruise which will dock at the Port of Galveston for three days. While
in Texas, the Kashima Taiko Team, whose name means joyousness or prosperousness
in Japanese, hopes to bring good fortune and promote goodwill through the
performance with Houston's own Kaminari Taiko.
This event is open to general public and free of charge.
