Seattle Friday, January 7 Events

Nordic Lights Film Festival. Jan 7-9th, $10.  All of these films involve the line "Brr, I'm cold..." somewhere in the plot.  Now, if you want to get the rest of the story, and see the Nordic perspective on life, love, and the rest of the world.  With these film festivals, there are usually a couple of clunkers, but some you really dig

Grease . Jan 7-9, $18+, the American classic and a great transition to the post-holiday period. In the original Broadway show, they talked about using Saran Wrap as a condom, but this was too racy for the film version back in the day. So, go see Grease as it was intended to be seen.

Behind the Scenes: The Real Story of the Quileute Wolves. Thru 8/11/2011. The Twilight series brought this obscure tribe into the limelight, so naturally, there's a lot of curiosity about the Quileutes. Explore the artwork, ceremonies, and oral stories of the Quileute mythology of the wolf and their supposed counterbalance to a coven of vampires. Location: Seattle Art Museum.

Janet Jackson Flash Mob. Jan 26th, free. Dunno, flash mobs may have already jumped the shark. If you want Janet Jackson to put our little town on her 2011 tour schedule, then vote with your feet (literally) by participating at this event. The dance moves are pretty cool, some of which you can probably recycle when you go club dancing next time.
