大專校聯會獎學金3月31日申請截止

 

 

The JCCAA has begun accepting applications for three categories of JCCAA scholarships.
The application deadline is March 31, 2009.

Other essential information about these scholarships is summarized below.

matter will be greatly appreciated.

1. Merit-based Scholarship
1.1 Up to 5 recipients with $1000 each funded by JCCAA
1.2 Purpose ¡V To recognize and award students¡¦ achievements in
high school.
1.3 Minimum Qualifications
¡P High school seniors
¡P GAP of 3.0 on a 6.0 scale
¡P SAT score of 1800 or ACT score of 27
1.4 Judged based on academic achievement, leadership, community
service and extracurricular activities.

2. Need-based Scholarship
2.1 One recipient with $3000 ¡V Mr. Sweet Huat Ling Memorial
Scholarship, donated by Mr. & Mrs. William Ling
2.2 Purpose ¡V To provide financial aids to college-bound high
school seniors
2.3 Minimum Qualifications
¡P College-bound high school seniors
¡P Can demonstrate financial needs
¡P GPA of 3.0 on a 6.0 scale
¡P SAT score of 1500 or ACT score of 25
2.4 Judged based on: 1) primarily, financial needs, and 2) to a
lesser degree, general performance (academic, leadership, extracurricular
activities and community service).

3. JCCAA Political/ Public Policy Scholarship
¡P Purpose ¡V To inspire and encourage college and graduate school
students to pursue a political career in government and public policy.
¡P Up to two recipients with $2000 each
¡P Minimum Qualifications
o Students enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
(including Law School) at an accredited college
o The applicants must either: 1) have already been offered an
intern position at the office of any U.S. Senator, U.S. Congressman, Texas State Senator, Texas State Representative or Houston City Council
member in spring, summer or fall of 2009; or 2) be interested in and committed to an intern position as described above which will be created
for the recipient of this scholarship
¡P Application Deadline: 3/31/2009
¡P Scholarship recipient selection criteria:
o Passion & dedication to pursue a political career
o Past engagement & future plans in political activities
o Communication skills
o Leadership
o Academic excellence
o Ability to understand, communicate and work with Chinese
American community
