Ms. Hannah Bacol Busch, owner of International Decor Gallery in Houston, Texas
Hannah Bacol Busch owner of International Decor Gallery hosted a 2006 Chinese New Year party to celebrate a traditional gathering at her Gallery.

According to the Chinese legend, Buddha called the twelve animals for a meeting on the New Year to discuss many facets of life. "The Art of Harmony" brought together a group of people who will have the opportunity to share their ideas and feelings about life, art, families, etc. It is a festivity in which everyone is encouraged to celebrate "their beginnings" for the new year, in hopes of instilling good fortune, good health, and overall well-being.

The Art Exhibition featured Chinese & Asian Artists who have created both modern and classical images that display not only related themes of Chinese New Year but also the creative expressions of "life" & "harmony". In choosing the artworks for this exhibition, the Gallery selected paintings that reflect these images in its composition, texture, color hues, and the artists' goals. The artists that participated were Wang Chi, Liang-Chern Hsu, Peihong Endris, Monica Barry, Sirun Guan and Mari Omori. Ms. Wang Chi and Mr. Hsu are both internationally known (China, Taiwan, and Japan) for their artworks. Paper-making painting is an original art form which was created by Ms. Wang Chi.

Along with the paintings, the Gallery showcases its exquisite Asian Art and Antique collection, which is composed of museum-quality bronze and stone sculptures, earthenware and terracotta statues of powerful animals and spiritual figures, richly woven silk and linen wall hangings, and interestingly rare swords. A significant part of the collection is made up of Chinese artifacts including a Scholar's Rock, a Tang Dynasty Horse Sculpture, a Neolithic Jade Cong, and Han Dynasty Cocoon Jar.

This year's Event also included a Dance Performance presented by Dance of Asian America. The dances were very traditional and symbolic of important events in Chinese history. The dances were entitled “Butterfly Dreams”, "Frolic in the Snow", “Rain Amidst the Bamboos”. This successfully unique dance company has been largely admired by individuals, like Martha Wong, Gordon Quan, Sheila Jackson Lee, and Miya Shay.

Hannah Bacol Busch whose own heritage includes Chinese (Cantonese) is dedicated to raising Houston's awareness for the Chinese and Asian Culture. She states, "China is an amazing entity of history, art , and people... I am proud to be a descendent of this existence". Within the last 2 years of the Asian Art & Antique Exhibition, the Gallery presented some outstanding artworks and antiquities from China and other Asian countries.
