The Scene:
One of the first bubble tea store to
open in Houston, Star Snow Ice is in a league of its
own. The atmosphere is clean and relaxing. There is
enough room for people to come in and play card games,
talk, or do homework. Service is fast and reliable, with
many employees taking orders and making drinks or shaved
ice.
The Drinks:
Bubble tea here is made from fresh,
homemade ingredients and is the separating factor
between this place with other bubble tea stores. They
have smoothies, coffees, frappuccinos, mochas, lattes,
and fruit drinks. They even have my favorite healthy
drink, made out of fresh carrots, apple, orange, and
celery. They even offer shaved ice, which is a bowl of
shaved ice, topped with red or green beans, almond
jello, etc.
Heads Up:
Always a big hit in Chinatown, come
early to avoid huge crowds and little parking spaces.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!! I was very sad when they moved, but I
heard that they are still in that area. I'm determined now to find out where
they are!!

My friends and I are big bubble tea drinkers. The staff at
the Sugar Land location are awesome. They are extremely quick even during
rushes. We are really particular and they meet all of our requests including
subtraction and additional ingredients. I've had shaved ice in Taiwan and this
comes very close with some variation for traditional or non traditional taste.

The shaved ice was really, really good. Usually, places
try to skimp on the red beans, but the lady working at Star Snow Ice gave me a
LOT of sweet red beans with a smile on her face.
The quantity of the whole thing was pretty big, and only $5. Overall, my shaved
ice was delicious and satisfying. I will definitely be going again.

I just moved from S. California, and tried Star Snow Ice
in Chinatown. The drink is very bad, too much sugar, and believe or not, their
tea is NOT made from tea leaves. All my friend from Houston stop going for a
long time.

I have had the opportunity of trying many bubble tea
places in Houston, Dallas and in the Bay Area (CA) and yet this location
constantly exceeds in value, taste and quality. Their shaved ice, milk teas and
shakes are outstanding and delicious. The prices are reasonable. The staff seems
friendly enough, but can also appear rude if you ask too many questions or take
too long in ordering. I now reside in NC (where there is NO good bubble tea) and
every time I've visited Houston, I come back at least 3-4 times. If you want
great boba (that doesn't taste like milk-tea powder with too much sugar) this is
your place. It's definitely worth the drive.
Recommend: milk tea with boba or pudding, papaya shake
with boba, shaved ice with various toppings.
