India Fest. 11am-9pm at the George R Brown Convention Center. Our Guest speaker Hon. Consul General of India, Sanjiv Arora will deliver the Independence Day message. Our honored invitees and speakers include City Mayors, Consul Generals, Council Members, and other elected officials. An estimated 10,000 people would participate in the day- long celebrations that include Little Champs Contest, cultural program and a musical concert from our very own Indian Idols. Come and enjoy Indian food & entertainment.

Houston Roller Derby. The Houston Roller Derby (HRD) consists of 5 teams: the Hard Knocks all-star travel team, Bayou City Bosses, Burlesque Brawlers, Psych Ward Sirens and Machete Betties. Stages Theatre - The Andrews Brothers. It's 1943 in the South Pacific, and tonight the Andrews Sisters headline the big USO show. But when a flu outbreak quarantines the girls, stagehands Max, Lawrence and Patrick, along with pin-up girl Peggy Jones, cook up the perfect way to wow the troops and save the day--all it will take is three wigs and a lot of makeup. Alley Theatre - Sherlock Holmes and The Crucifer of Blood.. Two murders and a treasure of jewels lead to a blood oath and an uncanny mystery that the master detective must solve before more fall victim. Terra Cotta Warriors: Guardians of China's First Emperor. The Houston Museum of Natural Science is excited to present one of the greatest archaeological finds of the 20th century, the tomb complex of China's First Emperor, Shi Huangdi, features thousands of terra cotta warriors that were intended to protect him throughout eternity. Where Clouds Disperse: Ink Paintings by Suh Se-ok.  Over his 40-year career, Suh Se-ok has incorporated his traditional training with his Modernist sensibility to create dynamic works that embody his artistic vision. He has been especially transfixed by the figurative form and has continually explored and perfected it until it evolved into powerful formal gestures of simple lines that comprise his definitive pictorial vocabulary.
