An Evening with E.L. Doctorow. 7:30pm. The Inprint Margarett Root Brown Reading Series presents one of America’s most celebrated authors, literary lion E. L. Doctorow, winner of the National Book Award and three National Book Critics Circle Awards. Alley Theatre - Gruesome Playground Injuries. Gruesome Playground Injuries charts two lives, using scars, injuries and calamity as the mile markers. Terra Cotta Warriors: Guardians of China's First Emperor. The Houston Museum of Natural Science is excited to present one of the greatest archaeological finds of the 20th century, the tomb complex of China's First Emperor, Shi Huangdi, features thousands of terra cotta warriors that were intended to protect him throughout eternity. Where Clouds Disperse: Ink Paintings by Suh Se-ok. Over his 40-year career, Suh Se-ok has incorporated his traditional training with his Modernist sensibility to create dynamic works that embody his artistic vision. He has been especially transfixed by the figurative form and has continually explored and perfected it until it evolved into powerful formal gestures of simple lines that comprise his definitive pictorial vocabulary.
