Houston's 27th Annual Asian American Festival. 11am-8:30pm. At Herman Park. Come out and celebrate our proud Texas heritage and celebrates all the arts of Asia that thrive in our International City. For a full day, Houstonians will experience the sights, sounds and aromas of the faraway Orient in beautiful Hermann Park  And, it is free! Exciting children's programs, festive foods and great family fun abound amidst shimmering costumes of royal court dances, soaring martial arts and giant thundering drums! Fine art, folk art, calligraphy, brush painting, face painting, puppetry and cultural exhibits surround the three TexAsia Stages.

Houston Fine Arts Events

The Cat's Meow. At the Museum of Fine Arts. The exhibition presents a wide range of works of art that celebrate the mystery of cats, in all of their nine lives. The Cat´s Meow gathers approximately 25 works from the MFAH collections of prints and drawings, photography, and Asian art, all featuring fabulous felines in various stages of posing, prowling, and purring. Old Master Prints From The Collection Of The MFAH. At the Museum of Fine Arts. Ranging from Christ, an important and very rare engraving by the Netherlandish artist Master F.V.B. (active 1475-1500) to Dog (A Fox Hound on the Scent), a 1788 etching by George Stubbs, the exhibition contains strong focuses of works by the two greatest printmakers of all time, Rembrandt and Durer.
