Houston Sunday, September 30 Events

Check out what there is to do in Houston this summer on our Houston Attractions Guide.

The Georgian State Dance Company. In form, Georgian dances are divided into solo, pair and group. Each dancer has to subordinate to the requirements of a common plan and its expression in the dance. At the same time, the performers do not lose their individuality, since several dances demand competition between partners in strength, agility, elevation and bold movements. Houston events at Miller Outdoor Theater, In Hermann Park, 100 Concert Drive. Call 281-FREE-FUN for more info.

Mamma Mia: The Smash Hit Musical. Houston events at Hobby Center. Call 713-629-3700 for more info. Event ID:9/30

Houston Ballet - The Four Seasons, Petite Mort. Houston events at the Wortham Center. Choreographed to one of the most beloved works in classical music, Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons, it's a poignant narrative on the passage of time. A world premiere presented with William Forsythe’s In the middle, somewhat elevated, famed for its high attitude and explosive movement, and Jiří Kylián's aggressive Petite Mort, this is classic ballet at its most evocative. Call 713-522-5538 for more info. Event ID:9/30

Stages Theatre - Souvenir. Comedy offers an affectionate portrait of Jenkins, a music-loving socialite whose charity concerts earned her a cult following in New York in the 1930s and '40s, culminating in a sold-out concert at Carnegie Hall. Genuinely devoted to "her art," Jenkins was apparently oblivious to the appalling sounds she produced, and the fact that her "fans" attended for laughs, not musical excellence. Houston events at Stages Theatre, 3201 Allen Parkway. Call 713-527-0123 for more info. Event ID:9/30

Stages Theatre - Late Nite Catechism. Sit up straight, spit out your gum and be quiet – or pay the price! This riotously funny international hit comedy takes audiences back to their school days with a show that’s part interactive catechism class, part stand-up comedy routine. Houston events at Stages Theatre, 3201 Allen Parkway. Call 713-527-0123 for more info. Event ID:9/30
